If I had a semipermanent place to work on my car where I could drill into the floor, I would buy a lift without a doubt, though.
A lift is always the best choice. This is the best alternative for those without that capability. I was always uncomfortable working on my car on jack stands. On these it's rock solid, especially with the fail safes. In the beginning I would put jack stands on them as a precaution as that's what a lot of people did...but after working with the Quickjacks, I realized they aren't needed. I tried pushing and shaking the car with it fully raised and it doesn't move.
