All it takes is to look at the driver's display and it would show you're in park, implying it is ready to do its normal things. The fewer beeps and bongs, IMHO, the better...save them for something more critical...it always seems to start when I press the Start/Stop button. It can confuse those with no EV or PHEV experience, though, as they expect to notice the engine running...with the PHEVs, unless your default is maybe sport mode, it's quiet when 'starting'.
