Honestly, that isn't really true all the time. I've had my current PC for about 4 years, and it runs great. Only had to work on it twice.

The PC I had before that lasted me 5 years, think I worked on it maybe a handful of times. Mac's also aren't really immune to viruses either. It's just there there aren't enough of them for the hackers to care about. Windows owns corporate computing.

Granted, if you go to the shadiest of shady websites and download your porn from Russian torrent trackers you might run into issues sooner than later. But hell, buy 2 PC's for the price of 1 Mac and then just use the other one when your first gets messed up.
