Thanks Sygazelle. Lots of people can't believe it snows in Australia - generally the Australian Alps.
The issue downunder here is that when people travel to the Alps winter tyres are not required, (and fairly rare) whereas snow chains are usually compulsory (Victoria).
This is different from many other US and EU areas.
Consequently BMW doesn't support the use of snowchains in Australia on their regular (summer) tyres other than 19". Perhaps because of the low(er) profile of the summer tyres.
