Though given the new X5 I think I will go with the 40 when considering my needs and that the truck has become better on the road. My complaint with the current 50 is sloppy road manners and very jerky off the line. If they fix that I might go again with a 50 but the 40 would be a smoother around town drive I think.

The current 50i with DHP is anything but sloppy. It handles corners like a sedan and has no right to drive how it does. I recommend giving a 50i with DHP a good test drive, the active sway bar makes a big difference and really brings things together.
