That is when i actually started to monitor things with the obd2 dongle

My temps have always been in the range of 72-80ish

Rate of temp rise did not appear to change after egr coolant line was bypassed.

I vaguely recall forum members writing up a diy for thermostat change.. also about installing a "higher temp" one...
Does anyone know about this higher temp t-stat thread? Where to find part? I'm very interested. Mine took 10 minutes of freeway driving to reach 78 Celsius today on a cool day (70's F). It would help fuel economy a lot.

Also: EGR cooler deletes always cost about 10% fuel economy hit in northern climates. Longer warm up times are also hell on engine wear.
