I've heard of the 2010 S5 with the V8 putting down weak numbers, but not the 2011 S5/2010-11 S4 with the supercharged 6?

underrated* from what I've heard (link shows multiple dynos at 300+ awhp)
OP: If you're concerned about mileage forget the M3, it gets awful mileage -- I averaged 15 MPG in mixed driving (2009 M3 6MT) that typically nets over 20 MPG in my 335. Unless you plan to track your car a lot, then I'd probably get the M3 (or a nice late-model e46 M3 and an A3 TDI for commuting)
