Two different appeals and I believe 2 different fan bases too! They will have overlap like myself but I am 37 which is very close to midlife crisis - But won't feel that way!
But if you are in your forties I woukd definitely think M5 period !

My whole point is
You get more fun for much less money !! But less status no doubt as it is going to be too common which I care about when making a car purchase !
When I had E550 coupe 2010 was the only car in Charlotte the or at least didn't see it at all till a month or two after I got rid of it and same with M5 as there are a few around and I love the fact that it is a Unique car...
But talking fun!
M4 was more fun to drive with this exhauste and more nimble but I like my M5 more! ! So mixed feelings!!
