I took delivery of my wife's 2020 X5 xDrive40i a couple weeks ago.
Does this platform benefit from the use of an oil catch can?

I run them in my current and past vehicles, but don't see much out there about running one on current X5 models.

We plan to keep this car for a while so I am up for any possible preventative measures.
ANY vehicle with 1. direct injection and 2. forded induction benefits from a well made AOS (air oil separator) or "baffled" OCC (oil catch-can). Keep in mind, not all OCC's are created equal. You need to consider size, internal configuration, it needs to be baffled, and how restrictive it is to crankcase pressure.
