Yes, the system needs Drive Assist engaged to function. The green light startup alert seems to work whether cruise is engaged or not which is good.
That setup is going to be tricky for BMW to address I guess. I cant see them fixing that with cloud learning. More likely will need newer software and testing.
The whole road marking system needs to be developed to cater for KEEP CLEAR, and other such markings.
