Ha, interesting. No idea as I am not a voluntary Android user, but a) BMW Connected Music does not rely on a smartphone, b) continues to work as of several hours ago (in fact, I just yesterday successfully switched it to a separate spare Spotify family sub-account from my regular one to keep "car music" and "life music" separated), c) iOS Spotify App v8.5.71.859 continues to work over BT in the X5.
