Wheel locks are standard here on BMW's. There is a nice little place in the toolbox to keep the "key"

Strangely, one night I stopped at a petrol station to put petrol into my E46. Well, there was a lady who had a flat tire in another E46, and a kind man that was helping her. She didn't (for some reason) have her wheel lock thing with her, so they asked if they could use mine. I was like "I'm sure they are different, but...err...i guess you could try" and so they tried, and it fit perfectly.

I donno how much difference it really makes...but if I had really nice expensive wheels, I would get a different wheel lock for each nut - now imagine a tire shop guy with that... have to figure out which one to use for which nut, for 4 wheels. That would drive me mad. hahah
