I hear ya. I got an X5 badge that was bigger and matte finished. I just couldn't do it so I bought the ones from IND. now that you have them off your car you might as well paint them.
I'm not sure what grit to use. Hopefully someone on the forum has got some experience with this. I have my original set as a back up in the event I lose one so I'd be interested to know.
