Since the day G05 came to the US market, one main complaint we have been seeing is the fact that the range is a measly 30 advertised miles. Facing this issue, we have been getting numerous calls and requests as to what can be done to extend this.
Being an established company in performance tuning of all late model BMWs, we had to go back to the drawing board with the hybrid power train and make your requests come true. Being known not only for astonishing performance gains, but also extreme durability/reliability and working hand in hand with Toyota NA on the supra tuning release in 2019, we had to make sure that the product we built not only delivers on the miles extension part, but is also safe and reliable for our customers.
As soon as our company test vehicle was delivered, we went to work hoping to bring this solution to the market by the end of the year. Code disassembly, modification and thousands of test miles resulted in a perfect solution for all of our customers. With our solution, customers can flash their vehicles with new firmware that has been tested to 70 miles on a full charge!
Of course remember that your actual mileage will vary dramatically by your driving style and consumption loads, but expect up to 25kwh usable capacity. Further, we have done modifications to improve electric motor efficiency, resulting in lower wh/mile usage! With our test vehicle covering the same daily 55mile commute for the last 2 months, we have never had to use ICE and have been seeing an average of 380wh/miles consumption, resulting in a range north of 60 miles!
