I'm not sure but this is exactly the reason why I am now driving the HK subwoofers from the front speakers signal, which is full range. That way I am sure there is no filtering.
I must say it did significantly improve mid-level bass response and crispyness.
However, I did read somewhere (no longer remember where) that the stock HK subwoofers were measured to have response down to 30Hz, so that would suggest no high-pass filtering.
