I think it's my phone, but I set AA to default and disabled battery saving features, etc.. Maybe I will ask around Samsung forums directly, worst case factory reset.

Like I said, my Note 8 wouldn't connect either when I first tried it. If I remember correctly it was something to do with the wireless connection options on the phone. I don't think it's your phone. I think it's a setting in the wireless settings on your phone but I don't have my phone handy right now to check it.
I will see if I can find it sometime tomorrow and report back unless you can't wait.
