I noticed this first on my 120d after a wash and i had dried the car and everything, but for some reason when i came out to the car the day after i had those ugly water marks that are left after water dries the next time i washed i tested folding the mirrors in and woooooosh the water came running out from them, so i removed the mirror cap and saw greenish moldy growth on the inside due to them being filled up with water and it wasn't draining out properly so cleaned both inside and outside sens then when ever i have been washing my bimmers that i have had i have been very meticulous about getting all the water out from the mirrors, not to mention the electric wiring that's in them and such.
It's an weird issue i know but it is so annoying.
