Hi Mugsix. Did replacing the compressor do the trick? I just purchased a 2020 X5 M50i and am having the exact same issue. I live in Florida and the issue seems to be triggered by the vehicle being outside in high heat for a couple hours. Upon restart, the A/C does not come on, even when pressing MAX A/C. I'm working with my dealership to triage, but as you mentioned, these intermittent things are super tough. I just came across your post and hoping you will be willing to provide an update.
