I can second the adapter RocketGoBoom referenced. I bought one called "TeslaTap" for my 530e, same design and around the same price. Works great with the Tesla "Destination" chargers. I also bought the Aerovironment Dual TurboCord for when I travel and there is no Level 2 nearby or at the location I am staying at. I paid around $225 for it, and it is the same exact TurboCord the BMW offers for $500, just without the BMW branding (or markup).

But most likely yes, if it is anything like the 530e, the cord BMW provides is a 115/120 Occasional Use charging cord, and if I'm not mistaken, is limited to around 10/11 Amps, while the TurboCord is not and can also use a 240v 6-20 outlet, which is why I went ahead and got it.

For home use, I installed a ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 unit and a 50a outlet. I plan on going full EV in the near future, so it was good futureproofing.
