So does the BMW Blog. We got a press release and a lot of speculation at this point. It’s going to be awhile until the full details play out in real time.
One thing for sure, BMW already owns this category so it’s all gravy from this point on.

CarBlog also reports these models are a addition to the line up.

”These new M50i variants of the X5 and X7 both seem like excellent additions to their respective model lineups, but there is a downside. The V8-powered X5 50i and X7 50i were already rather expensive at $75,750 and $92,600 respectively, but these new M50i variants start at $82,150 for the X5 and $99,600 for the X7. With a $995 destination charge, the X7 M50i will cost well over $100,000 before even factoring in options. If you believe this performance upgrade is worth the $7,000 price premium, you'll be happy to know production is set to begin on August 2019 at BMW's plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.”
