I don't think there is a true way of knowing unless you take the engine apart and examine everything. Sending the oil to a lab to check for bearing material is probably a waste as the 33k engine oil has since been changed.
So long as it hasn't run low on oil, then seeing as its a brand new engine i would hazard a guess that whilst there could potentially be some wear, everything maybe OK. personally i'd be more concerned about it being a courtesy car and being redlined from cold by people who don't have to worry about maintaining it.
