I think the Competition engine is rated at 460 kW = 625.4 PS (metric horsepower) = 616.9 hp (mechanical horsepower). Germans use PS and Americans use hp.
Similarly, 1 UK (imperial) gallon = 1.2 US gallon, and that's partly why UK mpg numbers are higher.
