Interesting about chain guides. Our 328i F90 spent 2.5 weeks at BMW of Manhattan having the front end of the engine taken off to replace guides as part of a service bulletin. They had a a similar caramel plastic color so wonder if it was the same material. Maybe an example where trying to save a few cents cost them big in warranty repairs.
