It actually would help the heat escape the hot V area. I've even seen people talk about removing the hood padding etc to help dissipate heat but I would not do that in fear of damaging the already cheap BMW paint. Adding a fan in the garage would also help even more down low to help push the hot air up and out. However all overkill perhaps depends on your during habits. Nonetheless every little bit helps.
