My CA informed me today that the remote start will be included in the premium essential and premium ultimate packages. According to the information he was provided, you cannot order it as a standalone option and the price of the packages would be increased by 500$.
They are being sent information about this in piecemeal by BMW Canada so he was not able to answer some of my questions like will the retrofit only be available to people who took one of those packages.
I will keep posting new info about it as I get it. He was expecting to get another bulletin either late today or tomorrow with more info.

I assume it free of charge as there was no mention of any cost. My service appointment is scheduled as a recall so. I will know friday for sure i guess.
I was also told that although the patch was released last week, they couldn't actually upgrade it until starting today...whatever that means.
