The power to weight ratio significantly favors the X5.
The X5 will be faster...the 8 cylinder makes 550+ lb ft. at only 1800 rpm, the X3 makes 110 less lb ft at 2600 rpm.
At least to 60 mph, even at 5400 lbs, the X5 will be faster...
