Once a year unless the car or factory tells me to do it sooner.
Never had a problem since synthetic oil became the norm. 3 of my old BMWs and 2 Porsches sold to friends or people who became friends after the sale and most are at the 150K + mark with no engine problems which could be remotely attributed to oil.
