The clincher, though, may be that the lease rate is currently 1.99% for the M50, and with loyalty, that goes down to 1.24%. Hard to pony up the extra $30K CDN to get to the X5MC when the lease rate for that is 5.99% (5.25% with loyalty reduction).

I'm in Canada too. When I configured the X5MC with ultimate pack or whatever it's called, the lease payment with zero down/taxes/ 24,000km came out to roughly $1000 more a month than the M50i. As much as I love the vehicle, it's a big jump in price.
