Get the 335xi. The only thing bad is the 1-2 shift. And it really depends how your trying to shift... Try not to force it but let it glide into the gate and it will shift fine. The problem is trying to shift very quickly from 1st to 2nd, for this the XI needs a new lever.

EDIT: Actually the problem exists in the 335i too, but they can easily put in a new SSK because they dont' have to drop the transfer case like the XI.
