The Welt is awesome when your picking up a car on ED. Otherwise it is just a giant showroom. One other positive is BMW on demand. I wouldn't "blast" all the way to the ring without stopping along the way. There is so much cool stuff and places to visit along the way.
Love Rothenburg OBT. Been there 3 times. Wouldn't miss it. Whaling on the autobahn is fun but does eventually get boring. The "romantic" road is worth a cruise if even for a short stint.
