The 45e uses a pressurized gas tank to preserve fuel, so that rubber plug is not part of the fuel system. If there was a leak it would make sense that it might drip for a while then stop as pressure is released. It sounds like the dealer needs to take a look.


You could try preparing the vehicle for fueling as that vents pressure and see if it makes any difference.
