Sometimes, the rubber bump stops are actually installed with a coarse thread, so you can adjust the pressure by turning them...that may be all it would take. If it's rubber on metal, there are conditioners you can put on the rubber components which does two things, helps to preserve it while keeping it nice and black, and lets it slide a little without noises.
