I didn't say anything about the neighborhood, the actual place is a dump and when you see guys with "chain linked belts" leaning up on cars while doing work on them certificate or not...you don't want them touching your car!
Again, I didn't say anything about the cert being easy to get. I just said I would rather have experience over a piece of paper.
And yes having worked for 9 years on high end cars installing AV/sound systems for show cars and large companies like Sony up north before I moved to FL. I do know a little something about picking a shop.
