Hydrogen fuel cell is where I honestly thought we'd be going, with batteries being just a stop gap measure. Fuel cells are more like petrol tanks in terms of time to refill which works for me and no doubt a large proportion of the driving population.
Now if countries can get that infrastructure in (which can't be any more complicated than getting and refining petrol today) we're sorted, surely?
