Personally, I think they are a huge ripoff, even discounted, as they prey upon fear. I've passed on them on every car I've owned, 26 cars so far I could have bought them for, maybe $40K I've saved. That is very true and I appreciate your viewpoint: I have owned a Toyota for 10 years and never had any issue, it just kept going and going flawlessly, but then again that's a Japanese car and they are well known for their reliability :-)
