see pictures #10, #11, and #12. I removed my flaps and cleaned them as part of overall intake cleaning. Dental pics and lots of carb cleaner got the job done. That close up of the removed and cleaned flap looks like it has a brownish/orange sleeve around it for sealing it into the intake manifold bore.
