The M e90 shift knob is extremely easy to install. just did it myself yesterday.

The stock 6 sp manual knob comes in 2 parts, knob and boot.
The m knob includes the boot in one assembly

Installation takes less than 5 min.

below is a step by step approach to DIY. there are 6 steps.
1st - put the manual gear knob in 2nd gear

2nd- yank the knob out in one quick move/motion- need a firm grip. ***there is no need to rotate the knob or unscrew the original knob.**

3rd- once the stock knob is out, peel off the leather boot from the console. there are some catches at the base holding the boot- should come out easily.

4th take the m knob and turn the leather boot inside out to expose the inside / hollow canal of the knob.

5th push the knob ( align the knob in standard H gate position) firmly on metal rod stick. should snap into place).

6th - turn the leather boot back into inside in posiiton and snap on the base of the catches onto the console!

you have done it!! congrats, i am sure you will have many hours of shifting fun with this ergonomically designed short shifter!!
