Yes, the new patch is awesome! It has totally revived the game and the way it should have been in the beginning plus without the Auction House.
I reset my quests for my Monk and I'm up to Act II just after you save the Jeweler in the Oasis. I've found a couple upgrades for my monk compared to 0 before this patch. I've found 1 set ammy, 1 legendary plan and 4 legendary items from Act I to now with one (Goldwrap) was found by breaking a barrel. I've found a good bit of usable rares too for my monk as well.
I've played this since July of 2012 and found maybe 4 or 5 legendary items. I found these other items after the patch in about 3 days time and on Torment I. Thank God Jay is gone and there are people at Blizzard that want the game to be playable for everyone and not how one person wants it to be for himself.
I can't wait until RoS is released Monday and get to try the Crusader and the new adventure mode, bounties and Rifts.
