I believe the allocations have the production number so basically there's no order until a dealer puts your name on one of their allocations (which has the production number) ... so it sounds like your guy didn't have an allocation when you told him your config, but then some allocations were released to his dealership the next week and he put your name on one. Tomato-tomahto though, as same end point ... but it might've even happened faster!
I had a similar timeline - I place my order & got my PN Sept 3rd for a week 42 allocation (with ind stuff & Merino) and it built on time with no delays ... it also looks like I may have gotten SUPER lucky and gotten one of the last B&Ws as it's still on my spec sheet & VIN decoder, but it looks like B&Ws disappeared Sept 4th.
bottom line is, our vehicles should be on their way!
