There's a difference between calibrating the suspension for more power, and bringing in the M division to make it go faster around the Nürburgring.

My last two vehicles - M4 ZCP and X3 M40i had adaptive suspensions tuned by M, and both were a little too harsh to enjoy for everyday long-distance commuting, in my opinion.
I feel like what's happened (recently at least) is that the M240i/340i/550i and other Mxxxi line vehicles have become viable, trackable less costly options than the actual Mx vehicles which have become usable supercars. The M5 is doing 10's stock.

As for an F80 ZCP F8X, those 20" wheels with low profile tires don't help at all, but I get what you're saying. Let's not get into run flats either, those are total garbage.
