So far, I like the vehicle. Keep in mind that this is the third model year for the 45e, just the first one where things have slowed down enough that BMW decided they could add the US market where hybrids are becoming more popular and some of the demand for elsewhere is tapering, at least a little.

1.It appears that the US delivered vehicles are not allowed to use as much of the battery as those sold elsewhere. My guess is that that will allow BMW to better honor the battery warranty. I've gotten over 40-miles, and 30 is advertised for the US models, while using a different test in Europe, it's rated at 50 miles. Almost nobody gets that much.
2. While BMW and Toyota have some tech sharing, I've not read that this in the X5 is borrowed from Toyota...might be, don't think so.
