I went from a 2017 540i to my 2020 X6 40i. For much the same reasons as you actually.
Loved the engine in the 540i so much, I got it again! The 540i with JB+ had more power than I used 97% of the time, so the X6 with JB+ is pretty much spot on in terms of performance for me.
