If he pulled a gap and ruined the tires in a couple laps, the softs wouldn't have made it till the end. They were already going out.

How many laps were on Ham medium tires when Vettel switched to softs. Half of those laps spent behind Sainz dirty air.
Not buying the NBC announcers giving false hope for challenged title run from Ferrari. I think the speed gap on equal tires is still large. We will see soon in Bahrain with the old quali back.
