It's exactly for this kind of situation that I don't believe in autonomous cars... the autonomous car will be able to stop in front of a stopped vehicle but unable to predict that the truck in the back will jam it, while a real driver will change lanes, even at the risk of taking a ditch or side accident to avoid getting run over like a common mosquito!
