MB owners do it just as BMW, Honda, Nissan, and other brand owners do. If they want an AMG badge then fantastic. Maybe they're a big fan of AMG's and couldn't afford one, or they have a couple AMG parts installed, or whatev. You can go have this same conversation all day long on Bimmforums.com about non-M E36 owners badging M on their car.
