You're correct the F15 did not require putting wipers into the service position to raise them but they only raised enough for one to lift and wipe clean. You couldn't raise and park the wipers without scraping.

The F15 right passenger wiper is shaped differently, while you can lift slightly and clean, required the fold-out position to lift without scraping the hood.
I know on my 2014 F15 you could fully lift the wipers without contacting the hood. You noted and the photos show your F15 had the wipers oriented opposite left-to-right, for a RH drive version, which may account for the difference.

On my G05 I can lift the wiper blades sufficiently to clean the windshield without contacting the hood. It's not much, perhaps an inch away from the windshield, but enough.
