Around here tint is just an excuse-to-stop, so if you aren't acting suspicious or hooning around on city streets, I doubt they would stop you just for tint (per the 3 local LEO's I've had the chance to talk about this with. And I've not heard of it being an issue, but I don't run with a bunch of modders. I think if I were to cruise slowly through certain neighborhoods I'd get attention, but probably more for my lack of tint than for the windows. In the past, these things have actually helped by giving the cop an excuse for a non-moving violation ticket once they interact and see that I'm being polite about things - and no body in the trunk ("just don't look under the air cleaner, officer"
).
