I would also like to point out, that although convertibles are not welcomed at BMW CCA DSes (for various reasons I'm not going to go into details here), it does not stop you from renting a car to attend DSes if you'd like to experience driving at a higher speed that requires as much of your mental capabilities for a far longer duration of time.

Most rental companies are now starting to offer cars like the G37 and 350Z/370Z and the likes. In addition there are several rental agencies in Los Angeles that rents BMWs. It's hard for me to imagine "BMW CCA doesn't allow convertibles" being the sole obstacle to attending HPDSes hosted by the local chapters.
