Rough Downshifts Under Braking
I got to spend some quality time with the X5 over the weekend as we went on a small trip. I thought I noticed this before but now I'm sure I do: under braking the downshifts in comfort mode are perceptible and sometimes harsh. Even in my 340i xDrive (which in theory has the "same" powertrain) the downshifts under braking are smoother even in Sport or Sport+.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is it something that will improve with time? Is anyone aware of a TCM software update?
Also I notice that when the idle stop is on and you're decelerating to a stop it tends to jerk the car to a stop more than if it's off. It's not violent or anything but I notice it and passengers may think I'm stopping short.
