Orgo prof explained the process. Basically involves pressurizing methane (or some gas composed of carbon atoms) at extremely low or high pressure. Supposedly, that breaks the bonds between the carbon atoms, and they align directly into a mold of the carbon arrangement of diamond.
Jeweler said that this produces flawless a diamond; hence it's too good to be true. The certain flaws within actually give real diamond some value, according to him.

*SOME* value does not justify the grotesque amount of markup by the ever so famous diamond importer. You're better off with an actual precious stone, which is truly rare.
